Sometimes the turn of a tide is a good thing …

Because we have nothing else on our plate my husband and I decided to get another puppy… We have a senior dog who is nearly 12, and another young dog who is under two… We know our Senior is at the sunset of his time with us and that our new dog won’t do well alone. We had the opportunity to receive the brother of our youngest dog as our new puppy… Most of our family and friends think we’re crazy:) a few who also have multiple animals understand. We didn’t care either way- we’re used to running against the grain in many ways… But what we didn’t anticipate were the unintended positive consequences of having a puppy in our house. Our new little guy has only been with us about 24 hours… But Alexia has already taken some leader ship with his care. Yesterday, for instance, she was in charge of making sure that while he was in the family room he didn’t stay still very long unless he was lying down sleeping… She is an amazing puppy potty training partner 🙂 as well because she wants to play with her new and beloved bin of slime- and the puppy can’t have it – she has to think more creatively to find space and structure to protect her slime from the puppy – she asked me to build quite an elaborate protection device this morning 🙂 we are aware that we will have to again live through the puppy stage but for many reasons we think that now is the time and that Ranger is our guy 🙂
